At home lifestyle newborn session with a TODDLER but howwwwww?
Here’s the thing, you have to go into it with the expectation to not have expectations 🤣

Knowing they aren’t going to sit perfectly for every photo, they may need candy to smile for all photos is OKAY.

Patience is keeeeey. Don’t let these photos fool you, it was a lot of chasing down a two year old, a lot of candy and during the session, sometimes you just have to do what they want (ie feet in the kitchen sink) but that’s what makes documentary lifestyle so beautifully raw and in its own true form.

The most important part is that your documenting the season, that’s our job. It isn’t necessarily about documenting the perfect. It’s the imperfect that’s beautiful. I would rather have a photo of my two year old in a kitchen sink completely cheesing not because she was asked to but because she’s authentically happy than a photo of us forcing a smile in the perfect pose.

So as much as we are the directors of our shoots and our art, I dare you to let your clients do the directing and watch your session go from mediocre to organic and beautiful!
